Product XML Import

Frequently asked questions

Answers to the questions merchants ask before installing Product XML Import by ProXI: supported feeds, variants, sync frequency, pricing rules, plans and support.

Below are the questions we hear most often from merchants who are evaluating the app. If yours is missing, contact us and we will answer it directly.

What is Product XML Import by ProXI?

It is a Shopify app that imports products from a supplier's XML feed and keeps their prices and stock synchronised with the store. You paste the feed URL, the app reads the feed, shows a preview and creates the products with variants and images.

Which feed formats are supported?

XML feeds served over HTTP or HTTPS. That includes generic product XML, Google Merchant Center style XML, RSS and Atom product catalogues. The app does not read CSV, Excel or JSON files, and it does not connect to FTP servers or Google Sheets.

Do I need to map fields manually?

No. The app inspects the structure of the feed and detects the elements that hold the title, description, SKU, barcode, price, compare-at price, quantity, images, brand, category and variant options. If a feed is unusual, our team configures it for you.

Does it support variants such as sizes and colours?

Yes. Products with one option axis, for example size or colour, are imported as variants with their own SKU, barcode, price and quantity, and variant images are attached where the feed provides them.

How often are prices and stock updated?

It depends on the plan. Starter is import only. Basic updates once a day, Professional three times a day, and Enterprise and multi-feed plans update up to eight times a day per feed. You can switch price and stock updates on or off for each feed.

Can I add a margin to supplier prices?

Yes. Each feed has a price multiplier and a compare-at price multiplier. A multiplier of 1.4 sells a product listed at 100 in the feed for 140. The compare-at multiplier creates a strikethrough price above the selling price.

What happens to products that disappear from the feed?

They are not deleted. The app sets their stock to zero so they stop selling, and restores them when they reappear in the feed. A run that returns no products or far fewer than the previous successful run is cancelled to protect your catalogue.

Can I connect more than one supplier?

Yes. The Two Feeds to Seven Feeds plans let you connect several XML feeds to one store. Every feed has its own settings, multipliers and update schedule.

How large can the feed be?

The app streams the XML instead of loading it into memory, so feeds of hundreds of megabytes with tens of thousands of products are fine. Imports run in the background and you can follow the progress in the app.

Which languages does the app speak?

The app interface is available in English, Turkish, German, French, Portuguese (Portugal) and Portuguese (Brazil).

Is there a free trial?

The app installs for free and you can connect your feed and talk to support before choosing a plan. Imports and scheduled updates require a paid plan; plans start at 19.99 USD per month with a discount for annual billing.

What kind of support do you offer?

Live chat inside the app, e-mail and hands-on setup help. Share your feed link and we check the structure before your first import. Merchants regularly mention setup assistance as the reason they chose the app.
